Panagiotou Winery
Vassilis Panayiotou is a low productivity wine maker, releasing annualy 5000 bottles, but still constitutes one of the most dynamic producers in the region of Attica. Since 1860, his family has been occupying with wine production and there are numerous elements of that heritage in the winery. The facilities of the winery consist of the basic equipement which proves that high quality does not need any advanced technology to be achieved. In spite the fact that viticulture in the land of Attica needs hard work, Vassilis Panayiotou is a fighter and has planted his plots with the prevailing variety of Savvatiano, the red Merlot, the Assyrtiko, the fragrant Nuscat and the classic Roditis. Vassilis Panayiotou releases his wines under four labels with his name on them, two white wines and two red ones. His red wine consisting of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon ages in oak barrels and is well distinguished for his distinctive tannins and rich body.
