Papargyriou Winery
Papargyriou Winery is located 10 km away from Kiato, at the region of Lalioti, in the Prefecture of Corinth. The family makes wine from its own grapes. Aristidis Papargyriou planted the first linear grapevines in 1978 and his two children, Yiannis and Elpida after having completed their studies in the Agricultural University of Athens and masters degree in the Institute of Vine in Geisenheim of Germany, continue the tradition of making good wine. Over the years 1998-2003, the mechanological equipment of the winery was upgraded, while new vineyards were planted in order to cover the increasing wine demands in Greece as also abroad. Today, the company exports wines to Germany and Holland. The Estate is established in a grading valley. The old vineyard is situated at an altitude of 240 meters and extends over the slopes of the semimountainous part of Corinth, close to Lalioti village, while the new one is located at a height of 800 meters in Sofiana, in the region of the Corinth. The varieties cultivated are Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
