Milea Winery
The Milea winery is located in Argalasti, South Pelion, at an altitude of 300 meters and was created by Lazaros and Suzana Karipidis. In the privately owned vineyard of 30 acres, in the late 2000s, it was chosen to plant the varieties Chardonnay and Merlot after soil analysis and study of the microclimate of the area. Sloping soils, good water drainage and low acreage yields (400-500 kg / acre), combined with the climatic conditions of the area, where cold winters and mild summers help slow grape ripening, contribute significantly to character of the winery's wines.
The first year of production (vintage) was 2009 for Merlot and 2010 for Chardonnay.
The winery is equipped with modern winemaking facilities and areas for the production, aging, bottling and storage of the wines. Contains stainless steel fermentation tanks for white and rosé wines, wooden winemakers with cooling systems for reds, oak French barrels 225lt in the cellar of the winery at a constant temperature all year round, automatic bottling and labeling machine, tasting area and guest rooms.
