Lefteris Anagnostou - Konstantinos Makrydimitris

The agriculturist-oenologist Lefteris Anagnostou from Mykonos and the agriculturist Konstantinos Makrydimitris from Naxos got involved in a difficult project. The idea of the project is based on  re-approaching wine regions of historical importance and re-formulating their expression through the vinification of specific vineyard plots. These areas have important links with viticulture and wine production that are lost in the centuries, while, in most cases, they produced famous wines in ancient years.

The history is the connecting link, while the old and self born vines of indigenous, known and unknown, varieties are the tools for bringing them today via a modern approach.

Heroic viticulture characterizes the sections from which the raw material is extracted, as these are mainly hard-to-reach and isolated vines of low productivity, while the passion of the winegrowers is the reason why they still exist. Among the intentions of the project is the assurance of the continuity of the old vineyards, their revival and the creation of strong ties with the people and each place.
