Ktima Spiropoulos

Spiropoulos family has maintained close ties with vineyards and wine since the late 19th century. A witness to this relationship is the family old winery, which is located just a few yards from the main installations in ancient Mantinia. It is estimated that this building was built around 1890 and one can notice two wine presses and underground tanks for the collection of grape must. In the “Protected Designation of Origin” area of Mantinia we cultivate more than 350 stremmata (approx. 88 acres) at an altitude ranging from 627 to 655 meters. The vineyards are planted mainly with Moschofilero vines, and are located in three separate zones: the Artemisio region, Zevgolatio, and village of Agiorgitika. In the vineyard of Artemisio, in addition to Moschofilero, we also cultivate Syrah, Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc. All of our vineyards are being organically cultivated. In Nemea, they cultivate 160 acres of organically cultivated vineyards planted with the Agiorgitiko variety. One hundred and twenty (110) of these acres are located around the winery in Ancient Nemea at an altitude of 385-406 meters, and the rest are located in Achladia at an altitude of 336-352 meters.
