Hatzidakis Winery Rampelia 2022
This label has a double meaning :the local woman's name "Rampelia" (meaning beautiful in Italian), but also the word "ampeliá" which in the local language means vines. Ariadni's Hatzidaki glance seems to approve it.
Single varietal assyrtiko, from a certain vineyard of Hatzidakis family, where the quality of the grapes was impressive despite all the Santorini demanding conditions.
The grapes were handpicked and left for 24 hours in a cold room before they were pressed. The biggest part ,70%, has aged in contact with fine lees for 12 months, while the rest 30% in French oak barrels.
Lemon color with golden hues, and aromas full of white flowers and peaches. On the palette there a vividly expressed mineral character, with a rich texture and a long aftertaste.
