Description: Although grown in Italy especially for the production of sweet wines, probably the Malvasia di Candia has Greek, and more specifically, probably Cretan origin. Nowadays, in the Greek vineyards, the variety is grown mostly in Crete, especially in Iraklion. It is a highly aromatic variety, with intense fruity and muscat character. The wines produced have a vivid golden color, while apart from dry, it also produces exquisite dessert wines.
