The special character of The Glenlivet 15 Years is the result of selective aging. A part of it matures in French oak for a limited time, so as not to greatly affect the final result. The low density allows whiskey to go deep into the wood, thus acquiring a particularly spicy taste. Also, the French oak increases the intensity of it, resulting in an even richer and creamier aftertaste.
