Milia Riza Wines Rosé De Gris 2021
The only wine brand in Greece dedicated exclusively to the production of quality sparkling wines, was created by the oenologist Nancy Mazou (granddaughter of Thanasis Papaioannou) and the oenologist & agronomist Stefano Stante (born & studied in Portugal), with the contribution -in an advisory role- of the Italian Alessandro Belloto. The first syllable of the name Milia comes from the word "familia", which of course means family and sounds almost the same in all three languages of the team's heritage: Greek, Italian and Portuguese. The second part of his name, Riza, represents exactly these roots. A root will always symbolize a new beginning, a new life, something new.
In the glass we find a bright white onion skin color and, with a fine "perlage". Rosé de Gris reveals a very strong and complex aromatic profile, with notes of bread, eucalyptus, mint and basil that elegantly accompany the aromas of red roses, grapefruit and fresh tomato. On the palate it is gastronomic, refreshing, having good acidity, a slightly tannic finish and a long aftertaste of aromas of sour cherry, grapefruit and orange peel.
