Messinia
A rich assortment of local varieties, is one of the main characteristics of the area. Goustolidi, Fokiano, Monemvasia, Corinthian currant, Agiorgitiko, Savatiano and Mandilaria, are only a few of them, with several international varieties like Cabernet, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, finding fertile ground in Messinia. Of these, most of the cultivated land are in the Ionian coastal line and around Messinia, where they are favored by the aura of the Ionian Sea.
