Kozani Wines
The center of the region's viticulture is a vast plain guarded by mountains. The artificial lake of Aliakmon provides the necessary moisture that lacks the place because of poor rainfall, while the climate of Kozani is the coldest of our country. All of these factors lead to the production of wines with a distinctive style and personality. The main varieties are Xinomavro, Moschomavro and Stavroto, while the wine heart of Kozani beats in Siatista, an area with history in the viticulture and winemaking, dating back to, at least, the 5th century A.C.
