Ktima Kir Yianni Syrah 1996

Ktima Kir Yianni, planted Syrah in 1987 and released it as a single-varietal wine "Local Imathia" with the launch of Kir Yianni in 1997. Syrah is the variety that suited Naoussa' s terroir better than all the so-called "French" ones. "Syrah" has been one of the most loved labels. Together with "Merlot" they were the forerunners of the "Two Olives" blend, which replaced them in 2004.

In the glass we find a deep ruby color, with granite highlights. On the nose it is complex, with strong aromas of black pepper, dried violet, plum, cocoa, leather, with notes of tea following and some hints of mushroom completing its character. In the mouth the body is silky, with velvety tannins, pleasant acidity and a delightful long aftertaste.
