Wine Art Estate Idisma Drios Xi 2019
Wine Art estate cultivates Xinomavro, the top red variety of northern Greece, in the Drama region. Strict cultivation and careful vinification have contributed to the creation of a wine that acrobatizes between finesse, strength and volume, aging results and freshness, the modern and traditional approach to the variety.
The winery started an experimental planting and the first crop to be vinified was that of 2016, which was bottled in a very small number of bottles. Recently they decided to release it on the market and at the same time sent samples to the Thessaloniki International Competition, in which it won the Grand Gold Medal. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, then transferred to 225 liter French oak barrels, 50% new, for the final stage of 12-month maturation. In the glass it is purple with gray highlights. On the nose there are red berries, sun-dried tomatoes, olive leaves, with a botanical character to follow and hints of black truffle at the end. Full body on the palate with high acidity, mature but noticeable tannins, where they compose a delicious whole that leads to a long aftertaste.
