O/Purist Tsipouro

The name O/PURIST comes from the anagram of the word Tsipouro, which is its DNA. This is, after all, O / PURIST. A tsipouro redefined, with strong roots in local tradition and history, but which is also addressed to an international audience. It is a tsipouro that expresses the terroir of Greece. A balanced marc spirit from fine grape varieties, local herbs, fruits and spices, made to highlight Greekness in cocktails around the world.

Tsipouro O/PURIST is the project of 10 distinguished Greek bartenders with careers in Greece and abroad (Marfi Bali, Christos Huseas, Alexandros Gikopoulos, Costas Ignatiadis, Dimitris Kiakos, Aris Makris, Giannis Petris, Thodoros Thyros Pyros Thiros Pyros , with a vision to produce an exquisite spirit that aims to create a community of people and organizations that will promote sustainability, localization and responsible drinking.

During the first distillation, the marcs of three grape varieties - Malagouzias, Roditi and Ugni Blanc - are distilled in a multi-distillation vat, at a slow rate for 10 hours. The blend is placed in a traditional, copper ambka where the 2nd distillation of the distillate takes place, in the presence of Greek herbs, fruits and spices.
